The most popular diesel of all time: EMD's SD40-2! Nearly 4000 units were sold, and most are still in service. Many have found new employment with leasing companies such as FURX (First Union Rail), CEFX (Capital Equipment Funding) and others, but a good number of them are still with their original owners, though their names may have changed.

As with all motive power, the SD40-2's went through an evolution and may have different features depending on production time and owners. Our models will represent the original standard version.
